The last time the Celtics started 30-4 was the 1959-60 season, and they won the NBA title that time. What remains for this year's Boston team isn't known, but they've got to like where they sit after tonight's 86-77 comeback win over the Nets in East Rutherford. Boston held New Jersey to nine points in the fourth, reports the AP.
The Nets didn't help their own cause, shooting a mere 15% in the final period and 38% from the free-throw line for the game. Boston's Kevin Garnett led all scorers with 20 points while Richard Jefferson had 17 for the Nets. Jefferson's teammate, Jason Kidd, passed former Piston star and current Knicks coach Isiah Thomas for fifth place all-time in assists. (More NBA stories.)
