Trump Calls Roy Moore From Air Force One

President Trump didn't just tweet his support of Roy Moore on Monday, he phoned the Alabama Senate candidate to endorse him. "The president had a positive call with Judge Roy Moore during which they discussed the state of the Alabama Senate race and the President endorsed Judge Moore's campaign," according to a statement from deputy press chief Raj Shah, per Politico. Trump's explicit support for Moore, who has been dogged by accusations of sexual misconduct involving teen girls decades ago, comes after polls showed a tight race for a seat that would typically be an easy victory for Republicans.

The Moore campaign says Trump told Moore, "Go get 'em Roy," during the call from Air Force One, reports the Hill. In a statement, Moore said he was "honored to receive the support and endorsement" of Trump, adding that the president "knows that the future of his conservative agenda in Congress hinges on this election." As of now, Trump still isn't planning to visit Alabama on Moore's behalf before the election on Dec. 12.
