Giants CEO Takes Leave as MLB, Cops Probe Video

The president and CEO of the San Francisco Giants is stepping away from the baseball team as both MLB and the San Francisco Police Department investigate the recent video that surfaced showing Larry Baer and his wife in a physical altercation. The team's board of directors said Monday that Baer requested personal time away, effective immediately, and the board accepted, ESPN reports. "Mr. Baer has acknowledged that his behavior was unacceptable, apologized to the organization and is committed to taking steps to make sure that this never happens again," the board says in a statement. After the video surfaced, Baer and his wife Pam issued a joint statement in which Pam said she had taken Larry's cellphone and refused to give it back, and that it was a previous injury and the tipping of her chair that caused her to fall to the ground.
