A spokeswoman said he was conscious after the fall, and an EMT told NBC he was alert on the trip to the hospital. The cause of the fall and any possible injuries remain under wraps. Roberts traveled by boat from Hupper Island to the fishing village of Port Clyde and by ambulance to nearby Rockport. At 52, he is the youngest Supreme Court justice. He has no known medical conditions, but he did suffer an unexplained seizure in 1993. He retreated to his Port Clyde home this month after 2 weeks in Europe.
